Mr. McGregor's Garden (11" x 14")

from $2,000.00

"I cannot rest, I must draw, however poor the result, and when I have had a bad time come over me, it is a stronger desire than ever,” said Beatrix Potter. Same.

Mr. McGregor’s Garden | The Lakes Collection | 11” x 14"” oil on canvas board

I went more literally towards my Beatrix Potter inspiration when I painted this, but it really helped ground me for the rest of the paintings to follow. “Wordsworth” helped me settle into the dream-scape visuals, and “Mr. McGregor’s Garden” into the subject matter.

Mr. McGregor’s Garden feels lush, soft, green. Like an experienced gardeners favorite place to try out new practices. A birdsong welcomed after soft afternoon rain.
